The Harmonist has launched a new perfume fragrance, Yin Transformation that has been added to thirteen fragrances that already exist in the house. With sustainability as a focus, it’s contained in a 1.7 fl oz./ 50ml glass bottle, and in new recyclable packaging. If you know The Harmonist, you know that all fragrances are based on the five elements that are the building blocks, and that are found inside of us: metal, water, earth, wood, and fire. Like a magnet they oppose each other, yet enhance each other.
The heart of the Harmonist is helping people see while all five elements are in their bodies, people are individually guided by one. For those guided by water, Yin Transformation is for you- because this new Eau de Parfum celebrates the power of water.
The founder, Lola Tillyaeva is known for her entrepreneurism, philanthropy, for being a diplomat, and for being the former First Daughter of Uzbekistan. Though the pandemic proved to be challenging to businesses around the world, Tillyaeva has been able to navigate The Harmonist, guiding it into a new era.
“2022 is the year of water,” she states in house notes. “It’s the most metamorphic element and therefore symbolic of transformation. This called for a fragrance that encapsulates what we do best and evolves it for an audience that is embarking upon their journey. Yin Transformation Eau de Parfum takes the power and sophistication of a scent already beloved by many and offers a sparkling, more ethereal presence.”
The notes are purposed and exact, created by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny. Bergamot, Mandarin, and pink peppercorn are the opening notes. The heart notes include Calypso Orchid, which creates fluidity between Yin and Yang. It’s named after the water-nymph in Homer’s Odyssey, and is found in the shade of Hemlock trees transforming to its pink and purple flower. Bulgarian Rose, and mate tea also make up the heart notes. The base notes include iris, sandalwood, and white musk.
Flavigny is known for creating fragrances for Givaudan, Fragrance Du Bois, and also The Harmonist. Noting the character of Yin Transformation, he says, “The existing parfum is an effortless fragrance with a sophisticated character, one with immense lived experiences. To change that story is to stifle its power, so we are retelling it from a fresh perspective: the same beloved character but with a new silhouette.”
Along with this fragrance launch, The Harmonist is collaborating with The Water Project, which since 2006, this non-profit has been helping communities have access to clean water in sub-Saharan Africa.
Yin Transformation can be purchased at harmonist.com, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, and The Harmonist flagship store in Paris for $250.
