Certain consumers prioritize guilt-free beauty products they can trust over the latest “cult” beauty items. Over the past several years, that audience has grown. According to some studies, 76% of consumers are now focused on buying products that are sustainably-made. As a result a slew of brands have cropped up eager to meet the demand. One very elegant incarnation of the trend is French Farmacie, a young line consisting of just two products: a Sérum Radiant and Élixir Exfoliant.

Packaging is equally purposeful with glass jars made of 30% recycled glass and secondary packaging featuring 100% recycled FSC boxes from responsibly-managed forests. Additionally, French Farmacie has partnered with 1% for the Planet, a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual memberships and everyday actions. French Farmacie donates 1% of gross annual revenue to the organization. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia and one of Tricia Marlow’s business heroes, is the founder.

The rich golden hues of both the Serum Radiant and Elixir Exfoliant speak to the careful processes in place to create these products. Painstakingly developed over two years, Tricia and team oversaw about 40 iterations to arrive at a skincare duo that is a eco-conscious minimalist’s dream. The unique Élixir Exfoliant, featuring various fruit acids in a jojoba oil base, aims to gently refresh skin over time without over-stripping, leaving the skin barrier in tact. In a beauty landscape that is currently populated with sensitized skin due to overuse of in-office lasers and peels, this product is a refreshing alternative. The luxurious oil is applied to freshly cleansed skin and left on for 10-30 minutes then removed with a muslin cloth. The company recommends following up with the Serum but oilier types may feel all they need is the Élixir Exfoliant. I’ve used the product for 6 weeks and have been impressed with the glowing results, my skin feels brightened yet nourished. The ingredient list features several unique botanicals including hibiscus, touted as nature’s botox and caviar lime known for its high vitamin c content.

As temperatures drop, complexions tend to crave more hydration which the Sérum Radiant delivers. It’s rich in fatty acids and formulated to stimulate collagen production and even skin tone.
