If you’re heading for east-coast faves New York City, Washington DC, Boston or Cape Cod this summer, you can avoid crowds enjoying fresh air, viewing the city, observing flora and fauna, and just chilling: Take a private mini-cruise on local waters.

Beyond Times Square (BTSQ), a destination management company with a 19-year history of delivering tailor-made, luxury travel programs with authentic local experiences, recently announced their lineup of luxury tours for the summer of 2022.

The luxury of going private makes it possible for visitors to say goodbye to the crowds and long lines that come with public sightseeing cruises.

In New York City you can take in Lower Manhattan from the New York harbor during the day or in the early evening courtesy of two experiences on a private yacht – complete with a professional tour guide pointing out iconic landmarks and sharing stories about the city.

On the Private NYC Sightseeing Harbor Cruise and Lunch, you’ll enjoy sandwiches, fruits, chips and cookies; on the Private NYC Sunset Cruise you’ll snack, and sip cocktails – with the choice of standard or premium open bar – while cruising down the Hudson River, through the New York Harbor, up the East River and back.

If you’re heading to our nation’s capital this summer and are up for a bit more speed, you’ll love the Sport Boat Adventure on the Potomac. Helmed by a private U.S Coast Guard licensed captain and tour guide, you’ll take in Washington DC’s monuments and memorials, as well as other landmarks, from the waters of the Potomac River.

This 90-minute trip includes soft drinks and bottled water, but you can bring aboard food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and have a floating picnic; and there’s an option to get it catered.

While visiting Boston you can exercise on the water with the Boston Private Cycleboat Charter. Choose burn calories and cycle via comfortable bicycle seats to help move the boat through the Boston Harbor – or just sit back and let the motor do the work.

For a more laid-back approach on a classic vessel, the Private Sunset Boston Harbor Cruise with Cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres takes place on the elegant Schooner Adirondack III and offers a full open bar and hors d’oeuvres.

And finally, a trip to Cape Cod offers the excitement of spotting the largest marine mammals living in coastal waters. The Private Cape Cod Whale Watch Tour can also be arranged as a day trip from Boston. You’ll spend three hours on the intimate Bellamy, a 32-foot US Coast Guard inspected vessel, on the lookout for orcas, finbacks, humpbacks and possibly even a great white shark, as the captain points them out.

“We find that when summer hits, our clients want to be out on the water as much as possible.” said Joel Cohen, General Manager at BTSQ.

“We take the best offerings within each destination, make them private and customizable, and in turn give them a much more personal experience than can be had via a group or public tour.”
