This isn’t the first time this iconic equestrian estate, called Stonewall Farm, has been on the market. In fact, Calvin Klein co-founder Barry K. Schwartz and his wife, Sheryl, have been shopping it around for a little more than two years. Now, it’s back on the market at the same price for $100 million.

Not only is this 740-acre estate the largest privately owned property in Westchester, New York, but it’s an equestrian estate that has bred several horses that have competed at the Kentucky Derby. The property features a 28,000-square-foot colonial-style home with a two-story library and impeccable interiors by designer Kelly Hoppen. This also includes a guest house and five staff residences.

Schwartz and his wife, who got into the horse racing business in 1979, bought the property in the late-1990s and completed it in 2003. The four-story home has eight bedrooms, a 2,200-bottle wine cellar, tasting room, game room, and incredible pieces of history like a Qi dynasty-era Buddha, old English mantel, objets d’art from Karl Kemp Antiques, and chandeliers from Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann and Hermès. Even the roof has a backstory: It is a slate roof repurposed from Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut.

Next to the main home, there’s a 4,000-square-foot pavilion-style pool house with a fireplace, gym, changing rooms, and kitchen. Inside, there’s a 60-foot swimming pool and spa. There are also four formal gardens on the property: a Japanese Zen garden with a koi pond, English rose garden, butterfly garden, and herb garden. Garden features include wisteria-clad columns, trellised walkways, apple trees, ponds shaded by weeping willows, natural woodland, and verdant parkland.

“The setting, expanse of property, and total immersion in the natural landscape cannot be replicated anywhere or for any price, particularly in a location like this,” says co-listing agent Hope Mazzola of William Raveis at Luxury Portfolio International. “Most parcels of this magnitude no longer exist within a desirable and commutable location to a major city like Manhattan. Layer that with a residence built with the finest materials, grand and timeless design, and a phenomenal landscape, while allowing the owner to enjoy their hobby, sport, and passion within their own private compound—it can’t be done again.”

For equestrian lovers, there is a turf racetrack, riding trails, a 40-stall barn, two 24-stall barns, paddocks and pastures. There’s also staff quarters dedicated to the breeding and training of thoroughbred racehorses. Schwartz and his wife have produced 65 stake winners and other award-winning horses from this property. Schwartz grew up attending races at the nearby Belmont Park, where he fell in love with racing.

Other features on the property include a 36,000-square-foot building on the western portion of the property, once the headquarters of Granite Springs Bottling Co. and the office of Chase Bank to store records during World War II. This building was built in the 1800s and retains the stone facade from which it was built. This building has residential accommodations and access to the business district of Granite Springs, but could also be reimagined into an automobile collector’s showroom, recreation center, residential development, or anything else you wish. The property is even divided into 18 deeded parcels.
